The roads leading up the mountain are fair at best in good weather. I wouldn't drive the family Cadillac on them. I have a 4X4 but I think with care a fairly high vehicle would be OK.
I went to the top of Hinch Mountain to look for a place to hide a cache. I really couldn't find a suitable place since it's an FAA site and really doesn't need folks poking around everywhere. So, I'm trying my hand at a virtual cache. The listed coordinates are for where you have to stop driving. It's a short walk to the left of the fence and right to the top of the mountain. This place will be very hard to find without maps or driving directions which are both available on the Internet. I don't think a GOTO on your GPSr would ever get you there. The view is incredible from atop this mountain and with some luck a great hawk watching area. I think it is known for being a birding area. The top of the mountain has been flattened and a bunch of FAA stuff is there. E-mail me what you think the object in the center of the clearing on the top looks like.
