This cache pays homage to the “Greasewood Flats General Store and Cantina” circa 1950. Established by one of the oldest families in Arizona the “Calvallieres,” the patriarch, George “Doc” Cavallier has a park named after him and a cache (GC8ZH0) just down the road a piece. This cache is located on the site of the Greasewood Flats along with a couple of other old buildings adjacent to the store. According to the current owner, the adjacent buildings were moved to the Scottsdale area from Prescott in 1907. There is a lot of interesting history here and now the Grandson has plans of turning the store into a forge. Located along the N. Alma School Parkway, this is a cache everyone can enjoy and if you're lucky you might get to hear some of that fascinating history.
