Bade Canoe Launch is located on the Neponset River behind the River Ridge Office Park on Route 1 in Norwood. Officials from the Neponset Valley Watershed Association originally indicated that this would be a welcome option for people looking to launch their canoes (and kayaks!). It is now managed by the Norwood Conservation Commission, who approved this cache. The Neponset River, which runs from Foxboro and empties into the Boston Harbor offers views of marshes and vegetation, and fishing for trout, bass, pickerel and carp.
I first discovered this scenic spot in the summer of 2020, at which time in a season of drought the Neponset River here seemed a mere trickle and certainly I saw no way to float a boat. In the fall however, after heavy rains I discovered that all the spots I had originally thought of placing a cache were flooded and the little stream was again a fast-flowing river! So a Park N Grab it must be. No matter what you find or what the season, it's a nice little spot.
