forbidden fruit Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: There has been a note from the Farmer that owns this land that the cache needs to be moved. This along with the long string of DNFs and inactive owner, I am archiving this cache.

That said, owner, if you would like to move it, I will be happy to unarchive after you've done so.

Geocache Description:

This is a perfect cache and dash that's great for beginners and kids. The cache is located in a new township open space area. The land was recently purchased from an orchard farmer who still has permission to farm the land/harvest and maintain the orchard. We've spoken to him and he is open to letting cachers come and visit this beautiful and unique open space area.

The entrance to the open space area is on Perkiomenville Road. There is a sign posted, but if you're not going slow enough, you could miss it. Our parking coordinates were:N40*18.960 W075*27.526. Entrance is near and on opposite side of the street from Young's Oil tanks .When you enter you will probably feel as if you're going into someone's driveway(it loops up next to a large barn)! Park along the side of the driveway. There were two large wood piles there when we placed the cache, Now there is a pavillion attatched with picnic tables for public use. The combo of the orchard and geocaching makes this a great learning spot for kids; now you can even have a picnic while you're there! The cache is located in this beautiful orchard. We're listing the "park hours" from dawn until dusk so as not to disturb the farmer. This is a short hike, may even be a cache and dash. The box is a regular sized tan ammo box. The box was once the bubbltree box in GreenLane park, now relocated. New contents included a little of something for everyone. As the "forbidden fruit" may get tummies rumbling, we highly recommend stopping up at the farmhouse when you're done to purchase some fresh fruit. The peaches are in season in mid to late August, and we can personally attest to the mouth-watering appeal of the pears and apples in the fall. (In fact, the pears are about the best we ever tasted!) The farmer states that well behaved dogs are welcome. Apparently the woods hold some really neat views, which will make this spot worth a return visit when/if they finish the park. Kids seem to like this one as they can usually find it on thier own. For cachers with even a little experience this will be way easy; for them the true find is the cool little orchard, not the cache/hunt!
