Geocache Description:

This cache is in honor of our dog named Trulee Vicious.  We serve as volunteer camp hosts each year for two weeks starting the last full week of October.  Trulee has accompanied us on all our rounds and everywhere else we have gone other than in the Lodge building, starting in 2019 when she was 8 months old.  She is a sweet dog that loves all people and was loved by all till an upsetting experience near here last year. While walking on the CCC trail we stopped to read the information posted by the statue of the CCC man.  She looked at the man and he totally ignored her.  She spoke (barked) to him and still got no response.  She got upset because he was so rude and kept ignoring her.  Trulee had met people that did not was to pet her before, but never that totally ignored her.  It was very upsetting.  After that experience she would turn her head to look away from the man whenever we walked on the trail.  This year, 12 months later, when we walked the trail again, she remembered that man and how rude he had been ignoring her. I was walking with her a couple feet beside and behind me.  We were about 50 feet from the statue when suddenly a loud growl erupted behind me.  I jumped around expecting to see a large dog ready to attack Trulee. Nope, it was my 37 pound pup growling at that man that had been so rude to her last year.  She did not stop growling till we had passed him a ways.  After that she would pass him with just a glance but did not growl again.  She has chosen to ignore him just as he has rudely ignored her.

If you have had a pet that has had a similar experience with a statue, please include the story in your log.  I have never before had a dog respond in any unusual way to a statue.

This cache should not be difficult to locate.  However, it is not placed near the rude man.  I would like to say it was relocated away from him to please Trulee.  However, the man's location was too close to another nearby cache.
