The given coordinate is for the schoolhouse.  The cache is not found here or on the school grounds.  To find the cache, you must solve the mystery.

To solve the mystery it involves the 3 R’s of school; Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic.  Read the below history, then write your answers to the arithmetic problems to find the exact spot of this cache.  The cache does not sit on the school grounds.

On October 13, 1869, members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Olivette, met to establish a satellite school for their children in Maryland Heights area.  On November 17, 1869, school was open!  Classes were held in an old log cabin and all classes were in German.  It wasn’t until November 27, 1875, when English was first taught two or three times per week.  In 1889, the brick building you see today replaced the log cabin.  World War I put a large financial burden on all American families and closed the school in 1915.

Once again, the school bell rang 41 years later, in September of 1956.  Language and science, laughs and silliness were all brought back by the grace of God.  School was in session until 1962 when class was dismissed for the last time.  The schoolhouse has served many other purposes over its many years. Today it serves as a craft and gift shop with all proceeds going back into the community.
