Geocache Description:

You will need a 4 wheel drive to get in as it is rather rocky in places. It is north of I-90 and is accessed through BLM ground. Round trip from exit 241 is 9.5 miles. It is placed at about 5400 feet and winter access may be hard to get in. If it has rained stay away as the access road is clay soil that is rather difficult to drive on and really tears up the road. Be sure to take a hammer or two to "play" your own version of rock music!

It is a traditional cache in a small ammo can. It contains the log book, please someone leave a pencil as I put it over my ear and forgot it until it fell out on the drive out!! A compass/whistle, a new carabineer, some water proof matches and a match case and some new AA batteries. Never know when those old ones go out!

When you exit I-90 you want the east frontage road that has a sign that says Non Maintained, it is on the north side of the highway. All my info is in miles off of the truck odometer, go .9 miles and the road will turn north. At mile 1.5 the road forks, go left. At mile 3.8 is where 4 wheel drive comes in very handy, there is a stretch of about 50-75 feet of bigger rocks to go over. Low range and low gear will climb over it very easily. If you choose to park below this spot it will be about a one mile walk up the road to the Ringing Rock. The rest of the drive is ok and very scenic. Be sure to watch for monster mule deer, an occasional elk and many golden eagles and red tail hawks.
When you arrive park at N45 56 579 / W 112 14 329. This is a little bit higher than the "regular parking" area. Besure to read the information sign at the regular spot however. If anyone has a digital camera please take a pic and put it on this site. From where you park you have great views of the Bridger Mountains to the east, the Tabacco Mountains to the southeast, the Highland Mountains to the south and the continental divide to the west.

Enjoy this spot as it was a great way for me to celebrate my 49th birthday out in one of my favorite spots.
