Chikugo-cho is an old country, and it is on the boundary with Chikuzen-kuni, and it is on the border with Mada-gun, Shimoza-gun of Chikuzen-kuni, Mii-gun and Ikiba-gun of Chikugo-kuni in Mihara-gun in the county. The boundary between the two countries was also the boundary of the clan in the Edo period, and many border stones were built to eliminate conflicts over provinces and water, especially in the vicinity of the number of rice plants on the border between Chikugo and Chikuzen.
Many remaining stones in the vicinity of the number of rice are stone with a cross-section of around 22 cm wide, 16 cm thick, and 1.3 meters high shaped into rectangles, and are engraved on one side as "Chikugo-an" and "Chikuzen-an" on the face-to-face. In addition, several "resealstones" have been built to mark when a boundary stone is lost or the location is unknown, and it can be seen in two places now. The cross-section of width and thickness of 30 cm and height of 1 meter or more is shaped into a square.
In front of the Central Community Center of Odato-Haicho, there are two border stones dug out by the number of rice and one county boundary stone dug out by Shibata during the maintenance of the field.
On one side of the border stone on the right side is engraved with "Soho Minami Chikugo Pass" and the face-to-face "Sohoku Chikuzen-an".
On the left side of the border stone, it is engraved with "Saizen Nishikita Chikugo Pass" on one side and "Saiho Higashi Chikuzen-an" on the face-to-face.
In the center is a county border stone, and it is engraved on one side with "The boundary Kitamihara-gun of Minami-Mii-gun" face-to-face with "Tenbo 9 years old, July good day". The shape and scale are also different from border stones. These borderstones are valuable materials for understanding the history of your hometown.
