Background
Welcome to my series of odd and miscellaneous challenges.
I came across this challenge while doing some virtual travelling during the pandemic. I liked the concept so much, I wanted to "leverage" the idea for myself. As Oscar Wilde said, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", right? Not to worry though, I have the original CO's permission so this idea was truly stolen fair and square. This time, the challenge comes all the way from Australia, thanks to burgo78 and Kyzabra. I've provided links to their challenges at the bottom of this description if you want to check them out.
The Challenge
This challenge takes the D/T (Difficulty/Terrain levels) matrix challenge and adds another "dimension" to it - Cache Type, hence the 2nd T in this challenge's title - D/T/T. As you may already be aware, there are 81 possible Difficulty/Terrain combinations (eg. 1.0/1.0, 1.5/1.5, etc all the way to 5.0/5.0). And when you multiply that number (81) by all the possible cache types out there, there are potentially over 1000 D/T/T possible combinations. Think about all of them - 1.0/1.0/Traditional, 1.0/1.0/Multi, etc, etc all the way up to 5.0/5.0/Wherigo.
To qualify for this challenge, you must find 250 caches with unique D/T/T combinations.
The Requirements
Some more things about the challenge to be aware of:
- All cache types except adventure lab caches and benchmarks can be used for this challenge.
- Your D/T (aka Fizzy) grid does NOT have to completed in for the challenge, although it certainly doesn't hurt to have it completed. A finished Fizzy automatically gives you almost a third (81/250) of the required 250 combinations.
- You can not use your own caches for this challenge. In the past you were able to log your own caches.
- Past finds count. Any caches that you have found and have been archived or disabled after you have found them can be used for this challenge if it meets the criteria.
The fine print
CO reserves the right to make any changes to this challenge if any issues or ambiguities are discovered. CO will be fair but has the final say on any events, caches, finds, or logs that are questionable. CO reserves the right to delete any logs if problems are found.
Finding This Cache
Do NOT access this cache from Highway 2. Please use the nearby service road instead.
Please remember to be respectful of the cache location. Be aware of how and where the cache is "attached" so that it can be put back in exactly the same way and in the same place for the next person(s) to enjoy. Only the "inner" portion of the cache needs to be removed to log the cache. The container may not be accessible during the winter months.
Logging This Cache
As with any challenge caches, you are welcome to physically sign the log for this cache and log it as "Write Note" if you haven't met the challenge's requirements yet. Please bring your own pen(cil)/writing instrument to sign the log.
Please use this Project-GC challenge checker below to verify if you have qualified for this challenge.
By the way, if you click on any of the icons in the checker results table, it will show you which cache the checker used for that D/T/T combination.
As another tip, the output graphic produced by this checker could be useful for evaluating if you qualify for other challenges as well.
You can only log a "Found It" entry online after you've completed the challenge and signed the log. All non-qualifying "Found It" logs will be deleted without notice.
