My original goal was to place the cache near the game crossing similar to one of the oldest caches in Utah, Game "X" (GC7C0). It turns out both ends of the crossing are only accessible from private property. This compromise spot gives you a glimpse of the crossing from a neat location.
Funny story about this placement. I'm merrily wandering along the old road/trail with cache container in hand looking for a good spot to stash a cache. I spot one. It's a little close to the trail, but could it have a good hidey-hole? As I explore more, I make a startling discovery. Is this a cache here already?! I open it up. It sure is. I know there's nothing on the map for almost a mile. Could it be a puzzle final? I check the physical log. There are two signatures with dates from 2011 and 2019 and each has a list of real names not cache names. Likely families just out for a walk who stumbled on the container. It was probably never published. (I wonder if it belongs to Dorkteam6?) I guess I'm adopting the container. Clearly it's a good spot if it's been here since 2011. I transferred swag and the FTF prize from my container to the "new' one and spruce up the way it was hidden. Ready to roll! Many thanks to the anonymous cacher who originally placed it.
Although the whole area is now referred to as Parley's Summit, also Summit Park, the actual point of land which originally bore the name is the hill on your right as you circle around on your way to the cache.
The cache can easily be found with snow on the ground but you will want to wear boots to get to it from the parking coordinates.
Let me encourage any locals who come after this cache to add more caches in the area to make it worth a stop. Thanks and have fun!
