Please note the geocache is not at the coordinates shown - you need to figure out the clues and then use these to come up with the final coordinates. This multi cache will take you around Baildon village centre looking at some of the notable dates and landmarks that can be seen around the village. Happy hunting! 

 

Location 1 - Baildon mills 

Coordinates = N53 51.281 W001 46.019

To find the first clue you will need to locate baildon mills which is behind the public toilets. Look up to locate a circular sign at the top of one of the mill buildings. Find the last number of the year on this sign. This is A.

 

Location 2 - Baildon working men’s club plaque 

Coordinates = N53 51.237 W001 45.968

To find clue 2 walk towards Baildon centre. Turn right just before the betting shop and look up on the wall to the right. Please find the 2nd number of the year Baildon working men’s club was founded and divide it by 4. This number is B.

 

Location 3 = Glendale house

Coordinates = N53 51.227 W001 45.976

To find the next clue continue towards Baildon centre and look up above the cafe bar at the end of the parade . There is a year that Glendale house was built. Minus the 4th number of the year from the 2nd number of the year. This number is C.

 

Location 4 = The stocks 

Coordinates = N53 51.221 W001 45.981

To find the next clue walk into the square that contains the old stocks. There are several benches in this square. Find the bench commemorating the life of Stewart Brown. How many letters are in his nickname? This number is D.

 

Location 5 = zebra crossing 

Coordinates = N53 51.206 W001 45.981

Continue walking past the busstop and over the zebra crossing towards the chemist. How many white stripes are on this zebra crossing? This number is E.

 

Location 6 = Baildon Moravian church 

Coordinates = N53 51.156 W001 45.996

Next you will need to take your next right up Westgate (the one way street). After the pub on the left, take a left and continue until you see Baildon Moravian church. Look up at the stained glass windows. How many of the INDIVIDUAL windows on the FRONT of the church have a cross in them? This number is F.

 

Location 7 = John Wesley  

Coordinates = N53 51.174 W001 45.961

To reach the next clue walk down the steps from your last location onto the main road. Turn left and you will see the Indian restaurant . Above the restaurant is a sign that commemorates the date that John Wesley preached from this window. In which month of the year (as a number) did he preach from this spot? This number is G.

 

Location 8 = St. John’s church 

Coordinates = N53 51.175 W001 45.893

The final location is a short walk across the village past the library and into the grounds of St. John’s church. On the right hand side of the church door there is some memorial/grave stones. Find Frank Haigh Lodge. Find the last number of the year he died. This number is H.
