Geocache Description:

For your protection and the protection of others, please use gloves and/or hand sanitizer before and after handling each cache.

This Cache is placed as part of the 2020 Taconic Region Geocache Challenge. Please see FA 1 for details about this challenge. This is a bonus cache – it does not contain a stamp.

This cache is a small lock-and-lock hidden along one of a warren of unmarked trails/roads on the north side of Route 301. One entry to the system of trails is at the trailhead coordinates. The trails are shown on geocaching trail maps. The closest parking is the Canopus Lake parking lot, which requires a fee or an Empire Pass. You may also park at Pelton Pond and follow trails to and across Route 301. You may find a Fahnestock trail map at the park's website.

In this area you will find many remnants of the past including a structure suggested by the cache name. The cache is not in the structure, in fact it is roughly 15’ away. Please replace the camouflage as you found it.
