For your protection and the protection of others, please use gloves and/or hand sanitizer before and after handling each cache.
This Cache is placed as part of the 2020 Taconic Region Geocache Challenge. Please see FA1 for details on the challenge.
This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache. Use this stamp to mark your passport. This stamp is NOT a trade item.
This cache is a two-stage multi that will lead you to and through an unusual and interesting section of Fahnestock that shows the impacts of both human and non-human (see cache name) creatures on the environment. The first stage will also give you a unique view of Canopus Lake. That stage is a bison tube, hidden in usual fashion, that contains the coordinates of the final, which is a short way away. From which locale you may see along the shore, if you look carefully, more impacts of the non-human creatures. The closest parking is the Canopus Lake parking lot, which requires a fee or an Empire Pass. You may also park at Pelton Pond and follow trails to and across Route 301. You may find a Fahnestock trail map on the Fahnestock Park page.
Please replace the camouflage on the final as you found it.
