This cache is hidden in one of our favorite areas Ray Roberts Isle Du Bois State Park. This general area is called the Cross Timbers Crossroads, because it is in the Eastern Cross Timbers between the Grand Praire and Blackland Prairie, meaning oak grasslands and prairie grasslands intermingle here. We almost always see deer here, and it is a beautiful area. This is also our first cache to hide, and this state park is where we first learned about geocaching! We started planning in late February, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed things. We hope you enjoy a walk in this gorgeous area as you make your way to the cache!
Park in the Hawthorne Camping Area parking lot and head East on the Randy Bell Scenic Trail. Stay on that trail until you come to the marker for the C trail, which is for the Loop C of the DORBA trail. This cache has lots of fun swag for kids! Please make sure it is well-hidden in it's original spot when you leave.
