Welcome to Mt. Vernon!! This charming city is the county seat of Montgomery County. The town was founded in 1797 and became the county seat in 1813. It was incorporated as a city in 1960. The city is named for Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. Mount Vernon, Georgia is located in Vidalia Onion Country and is home to Brewton Parker College. Be sure to stop and check out the beauty and comforts of the quiet oasis as you are passing through.
This is super high traffic area. Parking is not permissable on the HWY 280 side of the cache. The side road allows easy parking for a quick P&G. Muggles driving by so you may have to pretend to be posing for a photo at the sign to keep suspicion away.
