Geocache Description:

Nyah West is a town in Victoria, Australia near the Murray River, the border with New South Wales.
It is near the Murray Valley Highway (Nyah West is on the railway line, Nyah is on the highway), 371 kilometres north-west of Melbourne and 27 kilometres north-west of Swan Hill.
The town was established when the railway line was extended from Swan Hill to Piangil in 1915 passing some distance to the west of the established township of Nyah.
A full Post Office opened here on 1 December 1917.
A school (Nyah Railway Station School) was opened in 1915.
A fruit growers cooperative was formed in 1915 and in the mid-1920s it built a packing shed at the railway siding.
Nyah West was the site of the district hospital (1920s).
A district newspaper was established in 1921, carrying the name Nyah and Piangil Times.
The towns’ two hotels were rationalised in 1955, the Grand Hotel at Nyah West being the one which has continued.
Another rationalisation was the closure of the Nyah school (1896-1996).

THE CACHE
This cache has a logsheet only so please BYO pen
Geocaching guidelines.
Finding and Logging
Caches can be logged online as “Found” after the geocacher has visited the coordinates and signed the logbook.
To be clear, this means you should not log a cache as “Found” if:-
1. You did not visit the coordinates.
2. You see a cache, but did not obtain it and sign the logbook.
3. You find what may be an attachment for the cache, but the container and logbook are gone.
In this case, post a “Needs Maintenance” log, not a “Found It.”
4. You couldn’t find anything, so you install a new container and logbook without the owner’s permission and then log your find. In this case, log a DNF, or if you’re certain the cache is missing, log a “Needs Maintenance.”
