The park is open dawn to dusk 7 days a week.
Estell Manor Park is located 3.5 miles south of Mays Landing on Route 50. It is bordered by the Great Egg Harbor River / South River to the east and by Route 50 to the west. In all, it is about 1700 acres large. This is Atlantic County Park System's most popular park and the Division of Parks and Recreation headquarters. After the Native Americans, this was land owned by the Estell family and was the site of a glassworks in the 1800's, then became the site of a munitions plant during World War I. After 70 years, the forest has reclaimed this area, and is now home to an incredible diversity of plants and animals.
This Wherigo is designed to take you to most of the historical ruins and some interesting parts of the park. All of the virtual stages will allow you to see these areas without disturbing anything as all information will be gathered off of signs. The starting point is the newly created Atlantic County Veterans Museum (limited hours of operation). If it is open and you have time, I would highly encourage that you take a walk through. It is incredible and has tons of items in it.
The only "physical" stage is the final which you will have to complete the wherigo cartridge to obtain coordinates. It is the only stage of this cache that is NOT wheelchair accessible. I truly hope you enjoy your time in this beautiful park. Check out all of the other caches in here if you don't have them already. -
