It Takes Two (A Mob Cache) Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Geocaching HQ Admin:
Mob caches were published as an experiment using specific technology that required players to be in the same place and to enter a code at the same time to learn the final coordinates. This was an exception to the guidelines at the time and is not a publishable concept today.

The original site used for this purpose has been removed, and therefore, HQ has decided to archive all active caches originally intended to be solved using this method. Due to privacy laws, we are not seeking an alternative site at this time. We are respectfully requesting that the cache owner please remove the cache container and contents as soon as possible.

Geocache Description:

Please read the cache page before attempting this geocache!

Let me say that again – PLEASE READ THE CACHE PAGE BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS GEOCACHE!

Geocaching can sometimes be a solitary activity, but I usually prefer caching with someone or even a group.  It can be close friends, family, or another cacher we just met on the trail, but having more than one set of eyes can often make the difference between a smiley and a DNF and there is nothing wrong with a co-FTF.

This is a two stage multi-cache, and believe me when I say, that has nothing to do with the title. You will need to bring a partner or at least have two smart devices with you to attempt this cache.

The first stage is a GeoMob.  What's that, you ask?  "A GeoMob allows you to create a physical geocache that requires a mob size of your choosing to collect themselves at a location of your choosing before the coordinates - or other message - is revealed. Everybody in the mob will need a reasonably modern smart phone in order to participate."  To display the final coordinates, at least two Geocachers must be within 8 meters or 26 feet of the posted coordinates and all navigate to the Geo Mob website.  When you do that, the final coordinates will show on your browser screens. Then use your smart phone/app or GPS to navigate to the final location containing a small lock-n-lock.  (There is a note on the GeoMob webpage warning of problems with the Android Chrome browser, but that is an old note.  I have verified it is working.)  You can visit the link below anytime to “Verify your phone or smart device is compatible”. There is no need to install software or provide any personal details to use the GeoMob site.  Using this site is free.

In the "Which mob are you attending?" field, enter 4022.

To simplify:

  1. Go to posted coordinates with a geo-partner.
  2. Open the GeoMob webpage and enter the Mob ID 4022.
  3. Navigate to with in 26 feet of target coordinates.
  4. Wait briefly for GeoMob to reveal the final coordinates.
  5. Navigate to final and sign log.
  6. SMILE! 😄
