Geocache Description:

The year was 1810 and there was a severe shortage of cadavers of human bodies for medical study.

Many corpses needed for medical research were obtained through unorthodox methods INCLUDING the exhumation of those poor souls who had recently passed while their bodies were still fresh. (cue dramatic music and audible gasp!)

Normally bodies were supplied to medical schools from those who were condemned to death by the courts but there was a shortage. Unscrupulous thieves could make much money by supplying cadavers by digging up these up corpses and selling them to medical schools. The act of interfering with a grave was classified only as a misdemeanour resulting in only a fine and or imprisonment so it did not deter the grave robbers. (cue more dramatic music and the sound of heels running on cobble stone streets!)

The trade business was a sufficiently lucrative to run the risk of detection; particularly as the authorities tended to ignore what they considered a necessary evil.

So, it came that poor Anna Tommy became a victim of these unscrupulous grave robbers.
(cue even more dramatic music and a single terrified scream!)

After the medical schools had finished with her body it is believed that she was interned somewhere north of Adelaide, South Australia.

Her descendants have searched in vain to find her and give her the farewell she deserves.

Can you help her family find her by solving all the puzzles?

If you seek and find each cache, look carefully as some may or may not contain hints to find our dearly departed Anna Tommy.

This series is dedicated to Mrs. SA Sewer Rats. We know she likes solving puzzles and wanted to thank her for help and teaching she has given us.
