1000-1130 (approx)
Sunday 15th December 2019
Hi guys,
We've been invited back to Peartree Common by the lovely Jill on Sunday 15th December for some ground clearing work at Peartree Green, Southampton. The main tasks will be clearing the invasive Virginia Creeper that runs along the paths. The site is maintained by volunteers from the Friends of Peartree Common, who have been generous enough to host us again for the morning.
We’ll meet at the published coordinates just before 10am, by the play park at the published coordinates. (I'll try to be on time this time.) Parking is available on Sea Road (waypoint added) but otherwise, it will be a case of finding a road nearby to use. At 1000am there will be a briefing by JILL, and then we’ll work through to approximately 1130. Jill says, "We provide tools, but if people want to bring their own loppers, secateurs or hand saws (for saplings), they're welcome to. We don't have insurance for power tools. We provide gloves too."
Important - Please indicate your "will attend" so we have an idea of numbers.
All health and safety rules apply. Children will need supervision and pets kept under control.
Please also consider wearing appropriate clothing and sensible footwear. The event will proceed in any weather unless there are high winds or storms. There will be appropriate tasks for almost any ability level.
Any more questions, please get in touch!
Thanks for reading this, and hope to see you there!
