Geocaching can sometimes be a solitary activity. Running out to the woods at odd hours when a new cache publishes can be exciting for some people. I usually prefer caching with a group. It can be close friends, family, or another cacher we just met on the trail but having more than one set of eyes can often make the difference between a smiley and a DNF.
This is a two stage multi-cache. The initial location remided me of a Civil War era song by George Root, and that became the cache name. You will need to assemble your group of friends and do what the song says to make the find.
The first stage is a Geo Mob. What's that, you ask? "A geomob allows you to create a physical geocache that requires a mob size of your choosing to collect themselves at a location of your choosing before the coordinates - or other message - is revealed. Everybody in the geomob will need a reasonably modern smart phone in order to participate." To display the final coordinates, you must assemble at least three cachers within 8 meters of the posted coordinates and all navigate to the Geo Mob site. When you do that, the final coordinates will show on your browser screens. (There is a note on the Geo Mob page warning of problems with the Firefox browser, but that is an old note. I have verified it is working.) There is no need to install software or provide any personal details to use the Geo Mob site. Using it is free.
