Gooseberry is back!
The original Gooseberry cache was archived in 2015 after almost 10 years in action and 402 finds. Too old to reactivate, a new cache, Gooseberry 2.0, was created to bring geocaching back to this area.
The cache is located near the Gooseberry campground in the Elbow Valley area of Kananaskis Country. It is a very short walk from the Elbow Valley Visitor Center - the best place to park. You will notice the trail head on the road into the visitor center.
The cache is an ammo can with log book, pencil, and trading items. Please rehide the cache well. Since the cache is in the forest you may need to take some time to let the GPSr settle down a bit.
The visitor center is open different hours throughout the year. You can see the hours here. Washrooms (inside) and a pay phone (outside) are available at the visitor center. Vault toilets (outhouse) are available when the visitor center is closed.
