Geocache Description:

The cache was muggled on the first day of existence, so I placed a temporary cache about ten feet from the coords until I can place a more permanent one. It's a large acorn hanging on one of the low limbs.

One of the early NASCAR tracks was right here in Mobile Alabama. Lakeview Speedway, also known as Mobile Speedway or New Mobile Speedway, held two Nascar Grand National (now Monster Energy) races in 1951. The first race was April 8th and was won by Tim Flock, the second race was November 25th and was won by Frank Mundy. This 3/4 mile dirt oval was closed in 1953

I added some links to show aerial views of where the original track was, copy and paste to view some local history

This is from 1952 when the track was still being used. Zoom in to the top right of the photo  http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/aerials/Counties/Mobile/Mobile_Tillmans_Corner_1952.html

This is from 1960 when the track had abviously been closed for years  http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/aerials/Counties/Mobile/Mobile_Tillmans_Corner_1960.html

This is from 1974 where you can see trees starting to take over the track  http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/aerials/Counties/Mobile/Mobile_Tillman_s_Corner_1974.html

This is a photo from a 1951 race here in mobile, no info about who won the race  https://fantasynascarracin.yolasite.com/resources/Lakeview%20NC.jpg
