This geocache was hidden by Boy Scout Troop 54 on our Navigation Campout, while we were working on our Orienteering and Geocaching Merit Badges. Hiding a geocache is a requirement for the Geocaching Merit Badge. Troop 54 is a scout-led Boy Scout Troop based out of KirkWood Presbyterian Church in Yorktown, VA, meeting on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:00pm. We love to geocache, hike, camp, and do other fun outdoor adventures.
Some of the initial swag in this cache includes a deck of cards, balloons, a boy scout coin, a leave-no-trace geocaching card, a micro cache container, a geocaching sticker, and a Colonial Virginia Council patch. First-to-find prize is a trackable geocoin from one of the Geocaching Hampton Roads picnics. Cache is only accessible from Newport News Park. DO NOT park on Jefferson Ave. Approved by Newport News Park, permit number 0235.
