Peacock?   Yes, the Swanson house across the road has peacocks.  So, we wanted to mention that to people for when they hear the peacocks cry!  It can be a little alarming at first.

There is room off the road to park for only a couple cars, so carpooling is encouraged.  There is a slight incline from the parking spot to the road, so be careful if it is wet.  If you choose to park along the road, please park on the same side of the road as the cache so that other people traveling this road may do so with minimal issue.

Bring a GOOD flashlight and extra batteries for it. A hiking stick is not a bad idea either. Candy Apple 68 recommends bug spray. Wear your boots, blue jeans, and long sleeves and be prepared for some rough terrain!  The field that you BUSHWHACK through has stickers and prickers. (On my first visit, I wore a flannel shirt which collected many stickers. During setup, I got smarter and wore an army shirt, which worked out MUCH better.) Parts of the trail are deer trails which are narrow, windy, and steep in places. In the woods, there is sure to be poison ivy, although I always try to steer clear of that whenever possible.  You will also cross at least one creek bed / gully. Wire from fences may also be present.

This Night Cache is marked with orange tacks on both sides of the tree trunks, for entering and exiting. While BUSHWHACKING through the field, there is no need to get close to tacks. The final is marked with a white tack. If you see some trees marked with a small strip of white tape, please ignore as those are NOT our trail markers.

If you spot a trail camera, please leave it alone. Neither cache nor trail markers are close to it.

ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD, EVEN CORN COBS, SHOULD EVER BE PLACED IN A CACHE!
