Geocache Description:

Technically, this could've been an entry in the Texas Spirit Quest series, as there are purportedly two graves here from the Nineteenth Century: one from 1880 and one from 1893. However, every other burial here was from the Twentieth Century onwards. Moreover, one source notes this about the site's history:

James Campbell Watson's home place was along US Highway 183 in Burnet County, near the Chapel Hill Methodist Church. Before he died in 1939, he asked his son, James Edward Watson, to build a cemetery. James Campbell "J. C." donated an acre of land along the US Highway 183 near the Chapel Hill Methodist Church for the Watson Cemetery. He wanted a place along the highway so "he could hear the cars go by".

This is an active site with interments as recent as 2019.

Along with the expected Watsons, there are members of the Banks, Castleberry, Elliott, Kilpatrick, Morgan, Nettleship, and Witcher families laid to rest here, among many others. There are 200+ graves to be found here.
