Roath Basin is one of the three operational docks within Cardiff Bay today, along with Roath Dock, and Queen Alexandra Dock. Today, Roath Basin is only used as a hospitality berth, whilst the other two docks remain in full use. Roath Basin is only a few minutes walk to Mermaid Quay, and about an hours walk round-trip to the barrage. When you have found the magnetic nano, enjoy the bay and try some of the other caches available nearby.
