Geocache Description:

Cache is situated at the above coordinates at Fosbender Park. This won't take long. Then for a good walk (around an hour) check out the loop walk around the outskirts of Kilmock Bush. Off lead for active dogs (as mine is) is a bonus, also blackberry picking when in season is another plus. If you're a pinecone gatherer plenty along the track from felled plantations!

The Loop Walk

From the cache coords head along the track on your left, turn right at the T junction onto a good wide track. Be aware that this part of the walk up to the first T junction can be under water at high tides. Head straight then turn left at T junction. Follow the outer fenceline around the perimeter of Kilmock Bush. Turn right at the end T junction to return to car or turn left for a lovely walk in Kilmock Bush. (on lead area)

For the alternative walk the other more used entrance would be advisable at times when the other track is under water. From the Kilmock Bush carpark head past the toilets turn right at the first junction then follow the loop around as for the other route (you will see where the other walk comes out on your right (it's first T junction)

Please note: The Southland Sled Dog Association have specific training times on this track. Sundays 7am - 11.30am. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm. It's ok to share the track but be aware at these times and move to the side. Carrying a lead is also advisable.

BYO pen, please replace cache where found, enjoy the walk!
