Eye of the Island
The Radó Island is located in the historical core of Győr, with two branches of the River Rába. The island is directly in front of the Rába estuary, between Downtown, Newtown and Island. The island, located in a historic environment, is a popular walking and resting place. One of the most beautiful parks in Győr is on the island - entertainment, rest and historical sites are also here. Earlier, the island was called Sétatér Island, today named after Szentmártoni Radó Kálmán, the former director of the Rábaszabályozó Association (and Major General of Vas County). The Rába Double Bridge leads across the middle of the Radó Island from the Bécsi Kapu Square to Newtown's Rát Mátyás Square. The other bridge of the island is the Bridge of Youth. This small footbridge leads from the entrance of Sziget's lido to the northern tip of Radó Island.

A Sziget Szeme
A Radó-sziget Győr történelmi magjában található, a Rába két ága fogja közre. A sziget közvetlenül a Rába torkolata előtt, Belváros, Újváros és Sziget városrészek közt helyezkedik el. A műemléki környezetben fekvő sziget kedvelt séta és pihenőhely. A szigeten található Győr legszebb parkja, szórakozó, pihenő és történelmi emlékhelyek is találhatók itt. Korábban a szigetet Sétatéri-szigetnek nevezték, mai nevét Szentmártoni Radó Kálmánról, a Rábaszabályozó Társulat egykori igazgatójáról (Vas vármegye főispánjáról) kapta. A Radó-sziget közepén vezet keresztül a Bécsi kapu térről az újvárosi Rát Mátyás térre a Rába kettős híd. A sziget másik hídja az Ifjúság hídja. Ez a kis gyaloghíd Sziget városrészből, a Strandfürdő bejáratától a Radó-sziget északi csücskébe vezet.
