Geocache Description:

At the Southern most tip of Leicestershire, Lutterworth is an attractive market town which has twice made its mark on world history.

In the fourteenth century, John Wycliffe led the pioneering translation of the Bible into English, whilst serving as Rector of Lutterworth and, more than five hundred years later, Sir Frank Whittle, developed the jet engine at the Ladywood Works just off Leicester Road. This is a short stroll around the town with a physical cache at the end.

This is a Wherigo cache, the starting point does not have a physical cache, it's the starting point of your journey.

To find it, you must download a cartridge to a compatible device with the correct Wherigo software (it's free).

Download the Wherigo cartridge here

This will take you on a circular walk around Lutterworth, which should take less than an hour to complete.  The cartridge should auto save after each stage, so you do not have to start all over again from the beginning if you have a problem. This Wherigo has been tested a number of times on an Iphone 7 without any issues.

You will have to visit a number of locations and answer a question to move on. Then finally, you will receive the information to go and find the cache, there is no need to keep a list of the answers, but you will need to write down the final coordinates, as you will need these to locate the cache at the end of your stroll.

The route is easy going and is suitable for everybody, but you will need to cross some busy roads at times, so please use the proper crossings and keep an eye on your junior cachers. As with all urban caches, please watch out for muggles as you retrieve the cache at the end.

The journey will begin right in the heart of the town next to the shops.

Plenty of parking is available, some of it is free, just check how long you can stay. The suggested parking location I have listed, is for off street parking, the cost is £1 for between 1 and 2 hours. But, there is free parking close by too if you can get a spot.

This stroll will take less than an hour.
