The Rabin park was dedicated by the JNF to the memory of Yitzhak Rabin. It is located in the Jerusalem hills, east of Shaar Hagai, where Rabin, once the commander of the Palmach Harel Brigade, operated. The brigade operated to break the siege imposed by the Arabs on Jerusalem. Nearly a half century later, on November 4, 1995, Rabin was murdered during his tenure as Prime Minster of Israel.
Today, the Tel-Aviv - Jerusalem Highway (route 1) cuts the park into two segments. Yitzhak Rabin park covers some 15000 dunams in the area from Nechshon in the west to the Ground Breaking monument in the east. The area has many historical and archeological sites that bear witness to the historical continuity of the Jewish settlement there, ever since Biblical days. Throughout the park there are dirt road suitable for private vehicles. Other things in the park include the BEAKER Road, the BURMA Road, Fig trees, Ein Susin, and Shaar Hagai observatory.
The cache is located at the beginning of the road, behind the big statue.
