Geocache Description:

American households, schools, and businesses produce millions of tons of trash every year, which can often end up in the environment as a hazard for organisms that live there and can have negative impacts on ecosystems. The best way to decrease this impact is to reduce how much we waste. This can be done in simple ways like occasionally shopping at thrift stores, using both sides of a sheet of paper, or being thoughtful to only buy as much produce as you will eat before it spoils and will be thrown away. Additionally, we can reduce our usage of plastic and foam by carrying a reusable water bottle and bringing reusable food storage containers instead of using “to-go” boxes at restaurants.

The Botanic Gardens are open every day from 8 am to 5 pm
