This cache is at the junction of the North-South track and the track up to the hut.
It is a good walk and can be tackled from different starting spots depending on how much walking you want to do. Today we started from the Old Kaimai Road and went up the North Henderson Tramline to the North-South track and then down to here. Walking time is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours each way but please allow extra time for caching and having a look around.
Good footwear and warm gear should always be taken when walking in the Kaimais and let someone know where you are going. The track is good but can get muddy and slippery especially in winter and has several river crossings. BYO PEN
