This is a series of geocaches placed along a 5km circular trail within Gqunube Green Ecovillage. You will be walking along gravel roads or well-maintained paths and the objective is to track down indigenous trees that occur in the area. Along the way you will pass through many different vegetation types.
We suggest you walk the trail in the order of the numbered geocaches as this will be the least strenuous route to follow. Bring along some drinking water if it is a warm day.
From Tree Trail 9 continue along the path along the river bank. This tree is yet to receive a name tag. The berries on this tree are edible and you will discover the reason for the common name. Nectar from this tree produces some of the best honey available.
Please take note of the following:
In order to access Gqunube Green Eco village drive to the gate following the waypoints provided, or simply take the gravel road turnoff at the Two Swans Wedding Farm. The gate is about 2km along the gravel road with one sign along the way pointing the correct route where the road forks. Once at the gate you will have to contact the cache owners on 0832944333 or 0834411199, but to be safe, phone before to make sure we are in contact. We will remotely open the gate for you and you will be left on your own to enjoy the area unless you specifically ask for us to join you.
Park at the parking waypoint near the Indicator minor geocache.
Sorry, but NO DOGS are allowed.
These geocaches are only accessible during daylight hours.
Thanks to Dallas for the trails and Catherine for the tree tags.
