I have always liked looking out for these barn quilts while out for a drive or caching along the back roads, it kind of makes the drive a little more pleasant in
HURON COUNTY.
The quilt was created using similar colours as the Johnston Tartan. This farm and another have been in the family for five generations. In 2019 the farm will be a century farm. The quilt is unique as it was made with leftover materials found around the farm. They mixed leftover paints together to create the colours they wanted and even used recycled wood from the barn. This quilt is in honour of her husband and their father Dave.
IPM 2017 is where the barn quilt craze mainly started in Huron County as a contest.
Barn quilts originally started there roots in Ohio.
Barn quilts tell stories.
The proper size for a barn quilt is 8'x8'.
They draw motorists to our rural highways, roads that have many stories to tell.
Barn Quilts are rural graffiti – civic art about sacred places, battlefields, and historic locations.

ABSOLUTELY NO NIGHT CACHING, RESPECT THE NEARBY HOMEOWNERS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH QUITE A FEW OF THEM AND ASSURED THEM THAT THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN.
