A pleasantly easy find for geocachers--on a tough hill for cyclists.
For geocachers, it's a fast park-'n-grab, with swag for the kids and almost muggle-free. It also makes a good hotel for Travel Bugs, as a detour from the 400 Hwy.
For cyclists, this is the biggest hill on Weston Road. At an elevation of about 1,180 ft/360 m it offers a gruellling challenge and has been dubbed “MOAH” or the Mother-of-all-Hills.
Some 12,000 years ago the Wisconsin Glaciation Episode, left these huge ridges of sand, gravel and sedimentary material, making for a series of hills along this rural byway. That's long before drivers with all-season tires in winter could complain. Now it offers a breath-taking view to the north. It's also the watershed point between Lake Ontario to the south and Lake Simcoe to the north. (The cache elevation point is about 340m)
