Located in the Alpine National Park approximately 250 km north-north-east of Melbourne. The Drive to the trailhead should take around 4 hours from Melbourne. You will need a 4WD to get to the trailhead, otherwise it will be a longer walk!
From the trailhead to Bluff Hut is approximately a 2Km Hike. I intend to camp at the hut overnight on Friday night(28th).
The Event: 29th Sept 2018, 12.00-1.00PM. This Event is a lunchtime event on the top of The Bluff, it will be BYO everything, you will need to be self sufficient.
Getting There: Best parking is at the Trailhead coordinates which is approximately a 4-4.5 Hour Drive from Melbourne. You will then need to load up your backpack with anything you need and start walking.
The Walk: The Bluff is a 12km, Return hike. I would suggest packing your camping gear and spending the night Near Bluff Hut. (That is what I will be doing)
New to camping and Hiking? Don't worry, this hike is the perfect beginner hike and while it can be done in a day, I would suggest taking your time and soaking in the views and stay overnight.
Again, I would like to stress the need to be self sufficient. You will need to bring your own food and gear including first aid. With gear, you will need to allow for high country weather. You could expect 4 seasons in 1 day!!
