Mrs. Guy Tribute Cache

Mrs. Guy was an amazing volunteer, always willing to help out where needed! To top it off she was a hoot! Shirley started volunteering for the TC Geocoin Challenge in 2014.  It didn’t matter what was going on in her personal life, she always made time to volunteer as well as attend all local events. Our theme for the 2017 Geocoin Challenge was Fire & Ice.  For those that didn’t attend, we decided to use matches to represent fire. However, we wanted the matches to be already used. Shirley jumped at the opportunity to light 300+ matches. Below is how it went:

“We did have a meeting of the pyromaniac society today and had a blast trying to burn our house down.  But only a tiny hole in the plastic tablecloth.  Of course that was no loss since I was going to toss it anyway due to its already deplorable condition.  Probably about 320 +. And yes, I did count them.   😈    Want more?  Our little society will go back at it if  you want.  We still have a lot of combustibles left.”

As you can see she was always willing to lend a helping hand.

The original cache container has special significance. If you are curious most of the Geocoin Challenge volunteers know the backstory. The cookie will be given to Mrs. Guy’s husband, Aguyotta, after a set time in remembrance of all the laughter she brought to the geocaching community.

If you have any fun stories about Mrs. Guy we would love to read about them in your post. Shirley (Mrs. Guy) will truly be missed.
