AR_Frome Whodunnit Mystery Cache

“This cache is part of an experiment that allows the use of Augmented Reality (AR) apps to find the cache. At the end of this experiment, Geocaching HQ will decide if this cache will be grandfathered or archived. Geocaching HQ reserves the right to archive this cache at any time if conditions change. To play this Augmented Reality geocache you will need to download an app called "metaverse". It is available on both android and ios devices.

The cache is loosely based on the game of Cluedo. There are 6 locations, all of which are suspected scenes of murder. You will first need to visit the 5 waypoints where you will be asked a question about the location. Remember the answers to the questions as you will need them again! If you answer correctly you will be shown 3 cards which can then be crossed off your detective notes. Once you have eliminated all bar one suspect, weapon and location you should make your way to Location 6 (the posted cache coordinates) where you will be asked to identify the guilty party, murder weapon and crime scene in order to receive the final cache coordinates. You may visit the waypoints in any order.

The link below will launch the Metaverse app. Please note that this link may not work in all third-party geocaching apps, but does work using the "official" geocaching app or from a browser. Alternatively you can use this QR code in the Metaverse app. Once you are within 40m of each waypoint you will be able to click on the relevant AR experience and follow the instructions onscreen
