Geocache Description:

September is a beautiful time to go for walks in Melbourne. The wild orchids and flowers which you’d not have given a moment’s glance earlier are suddenly transformed into eye catching hues and fragrance.

It was during one such walk with my girlfriends (whom I happened to be introducing to the world of geocaching in 2017) that I came across a field of onion weeds. While their oniony smell will not win any award for spring fragrances, their nodding white bells make for some lovely photo ops.

Some gardeners hate them while others are happy to let them be as they provide food for galahs and chooks.

Whatever your opinion might be about them, I hope you’ll enjoy looking for this cache that is named after them. And if you are in the vicinity, do check this reserve out in September. You might even want to get a tree top view from the Burwood Link Bridge.

This cache is about the size of a plum. BYO writing implement. Please make sure the cache is returned safely and securely after you have left your mark in the logbook. Parking can be found near the bowling club at the corner of Station Street and Gardiners Creek Trail.
