The Yuan Guang Monastery is a lovely little gem of a temple in the outskirts of Zhongli in Taoyuan County. It is located on Shengde Rd, Section 1, very close to the Taoyuan Baseball Stadium. You can get there via HSR or the Taoyuan MRT, the nearby stations of both having Ubike rental kiosks available.
The monastics at the temple are friendly and accomodating. Feel free to take a walk around the temple grounds and enjoy the wonderful statuary and picturesque architecture but be sure to respect the location and the people there who may be meditating nearby by keeping your voice down. There is a Buddhist college on the other side of Shengde Road which also has lovely architecture which you may wish to explore as well. The rice paddies on the local streets there are a lovely jade green.
The GZ is located in a small but nicely landscaped area adjacent to the monastery. There is a wooden gazebo, stone table and chairs, a brick path, a quaint little drinking fountain, and a small Buddha statue in the grassy area. There is a place you could park a car just behind the GZ if you wanted to drive there. Shengde Road is a narrow but busy road. Please be careful if walking or riding a bicycle there.
Microcache, so BYOP.
Also, since this in my first hide, I left an official collectible inside for the FTF. Enjoy!
To find the cache, solve this riddle:
It lies nestled in a humble corner of the East
Among the shattered prayers of a monolith.
