27 grudnia 2018 roku mija 100 lat od rozpoczęcia Powstania Wielkopolskiego 1918-1919. Powstanie Wielkopolskie jako jedne z nielicznych polskich zrywów niepodległościowych można zaliczyć do zwycięskich. Właśnie dlatego należy kultywować pamięć o historii naszego regionu, cieszyć się tym wydarzeniem, uświadamiać potomnych, a także propagować na różne możliwe sposoby postawy patriotyczne. W dzisiejszych czasach są one coraz rzadziej spotykane, a tylko od nas zależy jakie wartości przekażemy obecnemu młodemu pokoleniu. Za kilka lat to właśnie Ci ludzie będą decydować o losach naszej Ojczyzny, kształtując zarazem kolejne pokolenia.
O miejscu ukrycia:
Skrzynka ukryta jest niedaleko cmentarza parafialnego w Śremie. W jego północno-wschodniej części wzniesiono pomnik w formie obelisku z granitowych ciosów wg projektu Witolda Szulca, upamiętniający poległych powstańców wielkopolskich. Postawiono go z inicjatywy Towarzystwa Powstańców i Wojaków, a poświęcono 15 sierpnia 1926 r. Jego odsłonięcie miało miejsce 15 sierpnia 1926 roku w święto Wniebowzięcia NMP, patronki śremskiej fary. Stanął na miejscu mogiły w której spoczywają powstańcy, którzy polegli w czasie walk w 1919 roku. Na jego fronowej ścianie wmurowana jest tablica z nazwiskami ofiar, datą śmierci oraz miejscem gdzie polegli. Życie za wolność ojczyzny oddali: Leon Tomaszewski, Tomasz Kowalczyk, Marcin Jankowski, Józef Jurga oraz Edmund Paszke.
Na cmentarzu staromiejskim spoczywa również ostatni śremski powstaniec, symbol patriotyzmu, kpt. Czesław Klaczyński, który zmarł 10 maja 2004 r., przeżywszy prawie 103 lata.

On December 27, 2018, 100 years have passed since the beginning of the Wielkopolska Uprising in 1918-1919. The Wielkopolska Uprising as one of the few Polish independence movements can be counted among the victorious. That is why we should cultivate the memory of the history of our region, enjoy this event, educate the posterity, and propagate patriotic attitudes in various possible ways. Nowadays, they are less and less frequent, and it is only up to us what values we pass on to the present young generation. In a few years these people will decide about the fate of our homeland, shaping next generations.
About this spot:
Cache is hidden hidden near the parish cemetery in Śrem. In its north-eastern part, a monument was erected in the form of an obelisk of granite blows according to the design of Witold Szulc, commemorating the fallen insurgents of Greater Poland. He was put on the initiative of the Insurgents and Warriors Society, and was consecrated on August 15, 1926. Its unveiling took place on August 15, 1926 on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patron of the Śrem parish church. He stood on the site of the grave in which the insurgents who fell during the fighting in 1919 rested. On its fron wall there is a plaque with the names of the victims, the date of death and the place where they died. Leon Tomaszewski, Tomasz Kowalczyk, Marcin Jankowski, Józef Jurga and Edmund Paszke gave their lives for the freedom of their homeland.
In the Old Town cemetery, the last Śrem insurgent, the symbol of patriotism, Cpt. Czesław Klaczyński, who died on May 10, 2004, surviving nearly 103 years.
