According to local legend, Petticoat Gully was named for a Farming couple and 4 daughters who settled in this region. Today the near-by properties are used for sheep grazing and vineyards.
Access
- Petticoat Gully Track and Dutton Way are unsealed, single lane tracks. They are well maintained.
- The tracks are narrow and vehicles with caravans may have difficulty.
Cache:
- This cache is a Bison, make sure you bring your own pen.
Parking:
- You can park within meters of GZ
- There is enough space at Underpants Creek (GC1EQBM) to pull-over and find all caches on foot.
Muggles:
- Residents/ Farmers, with farm vehicles and machinary
- Council vehicles
- Dirt Bikes (there is a track)
- Prospectors
- Mounatain Bikers and Horse Riders
Other Hazards:
- Mosquittoes in wet weather
- Watch out for snakes in warmer weather, use a walking stick to tap the ground
- Watch out for kangaroos, esp at sunset
