Born in 1939 Dion Francis DiMucci is more famously known as Dion and rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s with the Belmonts and later in the 60s as a solo act.
Dion recorded the song in 1961, which was written with Ernie Maresca wo co-wrote Dion’s previous hit Runaround Sue.
The Warder is the story of a traveling man and his many loves. Dion says the wanderer is at it’s roots a black song filtered through an Italian neighbourhood. The wander is a 12 bar blues base verse with an 8 bar bridge and is listed at 243 on the rolling stone magazine’s list of 500 greatest songs of all time.
