Una montagna di calcare, una teleferica attraversa i crinali e tre forni alti trenta metri dagli anni quaranta bruciano ricavandone calce. Tutto questo fino all’abbandono della produzione che lascia le torri a testimoniare il trapasso di un’epoca: memoria collettiva, ricerca di un nuovo ruolo e un territorio che si spopola. L’edificio, ristrutturato grazie al Comune di Sellero (con il contributo di Comunità Montana di Valle Camonica, Regione Lombardia e Unione Europea), oggi è sede dell’Ass. P.I.R. ruralità post industriale proponendosi come nuovo polo culturale, il centro 3T: tra storia, territorio e sperimentazione d’arte contemporanea.
Le Tre Torri, sede del centro, rappresentano un prezioso reperto di archeologia industriale, esemplari nella sfida che lanciano al territorio e al mondo della creatività: trovare una nuova funzione a quanto, pensato per una ben specifica attività produttiva, debba trovare una nuova utilità.
Sorte nei primi anni quaranta erano parte di un sito produttivo di carburo e calciocianamide che, attivo dal 1925, ha dismesso le proprie attività alla fine degli anni sessanta, lasciando le fornaci come sua ultima testimonianza.
La memoria custodita dall’edificio è vissuto collettivo quanto storia industriale: esse sono il luogo d’incontro tra la memoria individuale, delle popolazioni locali e le dinamiche, macroscopiche, dell’industrializzazione nazionale ed europea.
Tale incontro, oggi, sul territorio di Valle Camonica è rappresentato da un irrisolto: un luogo restaurato in cerca di funzione; sintomatico di comunità e identità montane in cerca di nuovi sbocchi che sappiano conciliare il proprio passato, da conservare e custodire, e una nuova realtà, economica e sociale, che si sta configurando.

P.I.R. post-industrial rurality proposing itself as a new cultural center, the 3T center: between history, territory and experimentation of contemporary art.
The Tre Torri, center of the center, represent a precious find of industrial archeology, exemplary in the challenge they launch to the territory and to the world of creativity: find a new function to what, designed for a specific production activity, has to find new utility.
Sorte in the early forties were part of a production site of carbide and calcium cyanamide that, active since 1925, has discontinued its activities in the late sixties, leaving the kilns as his last testimony.
The memory guarded by the building is as collective as industrial history: they are the meeting place between individual memory, local populations and the macroscopic dynamics of national and European industrialization.
This meeting, today, in the territory of Valle Camonica is represented by an unresolved: a restored place in search of function; symptomatic community and mountain identity in search of new outlets that know how to reconcile their past, to be preserved and preserved, and a new reality, economic and social, which is being configured.
