La Biblioteca Pública Virgilio Barco -nombre de un expresidente colombiano- hace parte del Parque Metropolitano Simón Bolívar. En sus 14 hectáreas se encuentran varias edificaciones de notable belleza, diseñadas por el respetado arquitecto Rogelio Salmona. Existe un edificio principal de tres pisos con amplios ventanales y numerosas terrazas y balcones -desde los cuales se tiene una vista panorámica de la ciudad-, así como unas cuantas dependencias periféricas. Amplios jardines de especies colombianas, canales que conducen aguas lluvias, fuentes, senderos peatonales y esculturas adornan los exteriores. En su perímetro hay un circuito asfaltado que es utilizado por decenas de ciclistas y patinadores que a diario entrenan allí. La biblioteca cuenta con su propio parqueadero.
Se inauguró el 21 de diciembre de 2001 y dispone, entre otros, de los servicios de consulta en sala y préstamo externo, publicaciones de referencia, videoteca, sonoteca, ludoteca, salas de exposiciones y auditorios internos y externos. Permanentemente ofrece una serie de eventos culturales de diversa índole. Sus amplias áreas exteriores son aprovechadas por muchas personas para la recreación pasiva.

Por favor sean precavidos al buscar el geocaché. Una gran cantidad de muggles merodea en la zona y aunque nos esforzamos por esconderlo en un lugar en el que no llamemos tanto la atención, siempre es posible que alguien nos descubra; especialmente durante los fines de semana.
The Virgilio Barco Public Library -name of a former Colombian president- is part of the Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park. In its 14 hectares are several buildings of remarkable beauty, designed by the respected architect Rogelio Salmona. There is a main building of three floors with large windows and numerous terraces and balconies -from which you can see a panoramic view of the city-, as well as a few peripheral outbuildings. Extensive gardens of Colombian species, canals for the rainwater, fountains, pedestrian paths and sculptures adorn the exteriors. In its perimeter there is an asphalted circuit that is used by dozens of cyclists and skaters who train there daily. The library has its own parking lot.
It was inaugurated on December 21, 2001 and has, among others, the services of consultation in the room and external loan, reference publications, video library, sound library, toy library, exhibition halls and internal and external auditoriums. Permanently offers a series of cultural events of various kinds. Its large outdoor areas are used by many people for passive recreation.

Please be cautious when searching for the geocache. A lot of muggles roam in the area and although we try to hide it in a place where we do not attract much attention, it is always possible for someone to discover us; especially during the weekends.
