This is an effluent dam part of the sewerage work's. The poor condition of Shongweni dam is mostly due to the presence of Hammarsdale which lies in it's catchment but is also due to agricultural practices . (There is much we don't know) We placed this cache early in the morning and the bird life was abundant , which seems to be common around such dam,s. HTH goes to thegoldenapp. Wish we had brought a pair of binoculars.
