Geocache Description:

You are looking for a sneaky cache, very well camouflaged. This is a small, tricky, and evil cache. It is easily accessible from the walking trail. Bring a pen and tweezers.

This 15-16 acre new park has a 35,000-square foot indoor multi-purpose facility with indoor artificial turf for programmed sports and play. An outdoor skatepark built of prelast concrete with 5000 square feet of concrete ramps, banks, grand rails and copings. A 3500-square foot spray pad with water jets, umbrellas, bamboo, misting loops, and water garden spray features. Additional features include a 1 mile walking/running path, 2000-square foot performance shelter, picnic shelters, 500-square foot water park shelter, basketball courts, peewee football fields with seating, a press box and landscaped areas.

The park is built upon the site of the former Hoosier Panel factory. New Albany was a pioneer in the manufacture of plywood and veneer. The first factory in the United States set up exclusively to produce the two wood products was opened in New Albany in 1901. The New Albany plant was an immediate success, and in1 907 another factory was built, and others soon followed. The new industry grew so rapidly that by 1920 more plywood was made in New Albany than anywhere else in the world. The development of radio in the 1920s brought added demand for veneer to cover radio cabinets.
