The trail is the oldest in London and is the site of the original Crystal Palace railway which closed in 1954. It was left to nature until 1972.
The logpile was introduced and is home to many insects including the endangered stag beetle.
The area can only be accessed between the hours of 9AM and 4PM and may be shut due to bad weather. Unfortunately the area is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
This area has limited access and can only be access via the trail heads listed. Do not try to access from Langton Rise.
