While planning the ascent to Monkey Head, we noticed “Goat Springs” on the map & decided to visit. Found it to be rather uninspiring, but were attracted to the li’l knob above the “spring”, so we walked up there with JasperX for great views of both Monkey Head & Castle Rock, as well as trails to Desert Bar, etc.
While we’d have preferred to stash the cache right on the top (N34 15.322 W114 07.092, elevn 1,009), the closest location we could find that gave the cache a bit of shelter from weather & biped/quadruped muggles was at the present coordinates, about 20 vertical feet below the top, in a vertical crack about six feet above a west-facing ledge
